Approach

Making something for a luxury hotel brand that didn't feel like it was made for a luxury hotel brand. The brief was editorial, but the risk was always that it tips into glossy. A place used as a backdrop rather than a subject. The photography needed to lead, and the design needed to stay out of its way without disappearing entirely.

Outcome

The design is mostly about restraint white space that gives Tenzing's images room to sit without competition, typography that captions rather than narrates, and a layout rhythm that shifts between the intimate and the wide without feeling inconsistent. The interview sections carry a different texture to the photo spreads, which helped the book feel less like a brand artefact and more like something that just happened to be commissioned by one.

The Postcard Hotel

Crux Intelligence

A book made with photographer Tenzing Dakpa for Postcard Hotels following a handful of people who live in Goa and the quiet ways the place has shaped them. Not a travel piece. More of a portrait of belonging the houses, the work, the daily rhythms that don't make it into the version of Goa most people see.
